My name is Rebekah, and I’m an exchange student at the Côte d’Azur University in Nice this year. I received a scholarship from my home university (University of Glasgow in Scotland) to create a project which aims to strengthen links between universities in Scotland and in France. This blog will explore the life of a Scottish student in France, and I hope it will help you to discover the benefits of a university exchange!

Je m’appelle Rebekah et je suis étudiante en échange à l’Université Côte d’Azur à Nice cette année. J’ai reçu une bourse de mon université d’origine (l’Université de Glasgow en Écosse) pour créer un projet visant à renforcer les liens entre les universités en Écosse et en France. Ce blog explorera la vie d’une étudiante écossaise en France, et j’espère qu’il vous aidera à découvrir les avantages d’un échange universitaire !

What is the aim of my blog?

This blog’s goal is to shed light on the process of studying abroad by exploring cultural differences between higher education in Scotland and France, and to hopefully as a result encourage Scottish students to consider an exchange semester / year in France, and French students to do the same in Scotland.

How can this blog help students who are thinking about studying abroad?

I plan to share content on the administrative side of the year abroad process in addition to information on cultural differences both in general and from an academic viewpoint. I hope it will help students who are unsure or apprehensive about doing a year abroad to better understand how it works, and take the step themselves.

What topics will be covered in the blog?

The blog will cover a range of topics including travel experiences, educational insights, cultural exchanges, and personal reflections on life as a student in France.

How often will new content be published?

My goal is to publish a new blog post every month that I am on my year abroad in Nice (i.e. roughly 10 in total). The first semester has been slightly chaotic and so I will be making up for the lack of blog posts in the second semester!
